Own Your Bed Head!

Who hasn’t fought the famous “bed head” battle?! You go to sleep with perfect, polished hair only to wake up to unruly morning tresses all over the place. If only there were a magic mattress that kept our tresses in place from night to morning. Unfortunately, they don’t exist. Even Casper, the awesome mattress company that brought you better nights and brighter days with their “cloud-like” mattress, know that even the best mattress can’t prevent bed head. By the way, I would totally go check out Casper mattresses, they really did design the perfect bed! Head over to https://caspersleep.com/mattresses for more details! (Also be sure to check out the Casper Mattress social pages! ) Well…as good as that bed might be for your body, it doesn’t quite help us out when it comes to winning that “bed head” battle. That’s where I come in (with cheesy smile from ear to ear…haha)! Fortunately, I have some great tips on how to combat unruly morning hair! Keep scrolling to find out my top three tips…

1. The Pineapple:

This technique helps preserve my curls and prevents my hair from frizzing up. All you need is a hair tie. Flip your head upside down and bring all your hair towards your forehead. Once you gathered all your hair and positioned it into a ponytail as close to your forehead as possible go ahead and tie it. Flip your head back up, and you should now have what looks like the top of a pineapple sitting on top of your head.

2. Satin Pillow:

Due to how smooth a satin pillowcase is, it prevents your hair from tangling up while you sleep on it. Versus sleeping on a cotton pillowcase, where its roughness creates friction between your hair and the surface of the pillow, which leads to hair breakage and frizz. Your tresses simply slide around on a satin pillowcase helping you keep your hair in place until its time to rise and shine!

3. Satin Bonnet:

The satin bonnet pretty much works the same as the satin pillowcase. I prefer to use the bonnet when I want to maintain a hairstyle. For example, if I do a braided hairstyle during the week, I usually do it the night before (because lets face it, not all of us are morning people. I’m more of a “snooze button” kind of gal. The thought of having to wake up earlier to do a fancy hairstyle is out of the question!) My solution for that little dilemma is to simply sleep with a satin bonnet. It really does help your hairstyle stay in place. When I wake up in the morning all I have to do is tweak my hair a little and I’m good to go! It’s a win win situation, I get to sport my fancy do AND get a few extra minutes of sleep…that’s a win in my book!

* (Both the satin pillowcase and bonnet can be purchased at any Target, Walmart, beauty or drug store).

I hope these were some helpful tips…now lets put an end to bed head!
