Little Black Dress

lil blk dress4“The little black dress” every girl knows it’s a necessity! It’s the dress that serves a thousand purposes, when in doubt always go for your LBD! It’s a classic so you never have to worry about not being fashionable, along with always having the option of keeping it simple or pushing the limits. It’s the dress that keeps you feeling confident, so even if you’re someone who swears off dieting and indulges in your guilty pleasures every now and then, have no fear the LBD is here to save the day! With the abundance of black dresses out there, you are bound to find the perfect LBD that flatters you. (I promise!)

So with Valentine’s Day sneaking up on us, I thought this was perfect timing for this post. I know what you’re probably thinking “isn’t red or pink more suitable for the occasion?” One might think so, but thats not necessarily the case for everyone. This is for my ladies who prefer the “all black everything” look and are not fans of bold colors like red or the femininity of pink. And that’s just fine! Like I mentioned earlier the LBD works for any occasion. Take a look at my LBD option for the day of love (aka Valentine’s Day):

Dress: American Apparel (here) // Belt: Love Culture (similar and here) // Shoes: Target // Lipstick: Ruby Woo by MAC

I wanted to go for a “va va voom” kind of look. After all, it is for Valentine’s Day so why not throw our significant other a bone and give them a little eye candy (wink). I thought this American Apparel dress was the perfect dose of sexy with its deep v-neck cut, while the length kept it looking classy! I added my gold chain front belt to accentuate my waist a little more, and opted for my black caged heels. I decided to throw in a little bit of color, so I went for a red lip (Ruby Woo red to be exact, it’s definitely one of my go to lip colors…you should check it out at your nearest MAC store.) If you’re someone who’s afraid of color this is a perfect way to experiment, go ahead and incorporate some color to your outfit by playing around with some lipstick…baby steps! Who knows, you might actually love it and start working that color into your wardrobe!

Thanks for stopping by loves! xo.

Killer Coat

“Baby, it’s cold outside.” You can sing that again! As the temperature continues to drop, it’s crucial to keep warm when heading out. However, that does not mean you have to sacrifice style for warmth – in this case you can have the cake and eat it too! There are so many options in the outerwear world that will keep you looking fashionable while taking on the cold. Take for example this killer coat I scored for a great price at Forever21:

Coat: Forever21 (similar) // Sweater: Forever21 (here) // Pants: Love Culture (similar) Necklace: Forever21 (similar) Boots: Timberland

The moment I saw this coat, I absolutely fell in love with it! The combination of tweed, faux fur and leather was perfect. The faux fur collar is ideal for keeping you warm when facing the harsh cold wind! Underneath, I wore my “Holy Chic” sweater (my exact thoughts when I first laid eyes on this coat). I chose to wear my coated black pants, and I must say I’m happy I did as it made the faux leather sleeves on the coat stand out more. With all the snow on the ground, I threw on my Timberland boots (I’m sure glad they made a comeback this year, they really came in handy). I wanted to keep my look somewhat casual, and I think I achieved that by pairing my outfit with the Timberland boots. For the final touches, I added my chunky gold necklace because I love the combination of black and gold and opted for a vampy lip.

Thanks for stopping by…stay warm and fabulous loves! xo.

New Years Eve Festivities!

Yelling HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my lovely readers! Isn’t New Years one of the most festive times of the year?! Personally, it’s one of my favorite holidays. You get to dress up in a fabulous outfit, join the many festivities going on, and last but not least, you get a fresh start not to become a new you…but a better you, as you welcome in a new year.

Every year I throw a New Years Eve party with close friends and family, it’s always an awesome time. My favorite part is the decorating…I love getting creative to achieve that perfect party atmosphere. This year we decided to do a Mardi Gras theme. I absolutely loved the outcome of the party! Here’s a look:

The main table – can’t have a Mardi Gras party without beads and masks! This was probably one of my favorite decoration pieces for the party.

IMG_2765IMG_2766Can’t have a party without balloons! Another one of my favorite decorations; Balloons, and lots of them, just makes it feel that much more festive don’t you agree?

And now for my New Years Eve look. I shopped around for something, but there was nothing that caught my eye, and after trying on a few ill-fitting dresses, I threw in the towel. At the end of the day, I didn’t find anything I loved. Which is probably my fault since I waited so last-minute to shop for an outfit. So, I headed to my closet…hoping to pull something together last-minute. Fortunately, I found a little gem in the back of my closet – it was a romper I bought maybe years ago that I never got to wear. (See, I knew I was holding onto it for a reason…haha).

IMG_2801IMG_2802IMG_2800I decided to pair my Rampage romper I purchased a while back at Macy’s with my American Apparel thigh highs and black suede wedges. You have to love a pair of thigh highs, it adds a trendy touch while keeping those legs warm! The romper had a very low-cut v-neck and since it was a family affair, I  covered up the ta-tas with a laced trimmed bandeau. I wore an orange lip (Covergirl’s blastflipstick in 840 stunner) to bring out the orange beading on the romper’s midsection. I styled my hair with a 1″ curling iron to create loose waves on my long blonde locks. And there you have it…I was feeling fabulous and fierce to bring in 2014!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Holidays! Hoping this year has nothing but awesome-ness in store for us all!!! xo.masked
